Westside Urology, Dr. Schmidt.

http://www.tuality.org/tuality/index.php/westside_urology_associates/welcome

I'm not sure of others, but I was given an Rx for 1 Valium to take an hour prior to arriving. Made everything go well :D. Obviously I needed a ride to and from, but it was a painless and stress free 45 minutes. Things were a little sore for a couple days but nothing major and completely back to normal within a week. Verified 4 months later.

I don't see why its something so many men put off or don't do if they are sure they are done having a family. It's the closest thing to guaranteed birth control short of abstinence.

The Dr didn't use enough local on me and when he either clamped or snipped the vas, I about came off the table. The only other thing I remember is there seemed to be a lot of nurses gathered around :D

My 80 old doctor did mine (Amazingly, the tremors in his hands magically stopped when he started to focus on the job at hand with the scalpel.)
After he gave me the first pain shot the procedure went rather quickly, except I asked him why he was walking around to the other side of the table.
He laughed and said, "Son, You were born with two testicles and I'm only half done.".
That's when he jabbed me with the second shot. That shot hurt more then the first one.

I'll take a vasectomy any day after a friend of mind went through two reversals for his 2nd wife that just had to have a baby by him.
His testicles swelled up as big as oranges and were black & blue for weeks.
I love my wife, but after seeing what he went through, no way. I'd adopt a kid.

The cat and I both went to the same Vet...Two ice cubes because I said I was
driving...What ever he used to seal the tubes, I saw the smoke and I could smell
it.:eek::eek: But, hey...That was 30 years ago...Your cutter probably wont be wearing
a bone in his nose...:rolleyes::rolleyes::p

The Good Lord has blessed us with 6 problem-free pregnancies and 6-defect free babies... but after 12 years of making babies, and then having to be a responsible baby owner, I'm so freaken tired of babies. Plus it'd be great to have my wife back.

We intend to adopt one or some in about 5-10 years... but for now, I just don't want any more babies

Yea... that's pretty much the opposite of what I'm looking for. Money is no object, when it comes to slicing into my choade and cutting parts of my reproductive system up

That pre-op Valium did wonders for me. No nerves, jitters, or worries. Wish they had a better pic pasted to the ceiling though. Ii was looking at "nice happy trees, happy fluffy trees" that were inspired by Bob Ross while doc was doing his thing.

Another recommend - Dr. Shammai Rockove at the Center for Urology (Legacy Mt Hood Medical Center). I didn't get the 'snip', but had to use him for something else. After going through 2 other urologists that had horrible bedside manners (not something you want when your sensitives are involved ;)), I requested another recommend and found Dr. Rockove. He was very professional and always took the time to talk through the procedure, answer any and all questions, and to just be a nice guy.

I did it several years ago... it was easy. Went to a great urologist, they gave HUGE syringes of anti-inflammatory and I had virtually none of the crazy swelling. Went in for the appointment in the early evening and was feeling fine afterwards so the wife and I went out for dinner before going home. That's the difference between a experienced specialist and just a doc... it was easy and pain free. The wife and I have 4 kids, and no worries about more!
