Hey, it looks like someone sold you some swampland...

Just kidding, it certainly looks like a nice flat piece of land to work with. Hopefully the neighbors are acceptable. Glad you were able to finally make it happen. Sorry to see you leave but completely understand that this area is unfortunately not just about leaving for health reasons anymore. You certainly have my best wishes on your move.

Thanks Brian, the property is in flood zone X, is high and dry plus actually slopes towards the road, I've got 8' of elevation in the back… :s0140:

AND my neighbors are all hunters and fishermen, I hope I don't piss em off when the AR's need to stretch their legs… :p

Eight Feet?! Once global cooling takes over Florida, you could have a ski slope!

Heading back down around St. Patrick's day to get the ball rolling to have utilities installed and talk to a builder for the shop.
Probably going to live in an RV for a while to see if prices on building materials comes down a bit.

Contacted the power company and have a meeting set up with the staking technician once we arrive. The first 500' are free but after that it's $4 per foot, my friend measured it Sunday and it's 578', I can handle $312… :p

Also contacted the County Public Works department for the driveway permit, it was free of charge because the seller did such an awesome job on the road approach while clearing brush and thinning the trees.
If a culvert and grading was needed then they do all the work for a $70 fee. :s0155:
Up here that would cost $$$.

We've also been packing a little here, a little there and are WAYYYYY ahead of schedule, the shop on the other hand is gonna take some time.

Well we finally made it back down to the promised land a month late but it's 80* in April, Hallelujah!!!
Temp power pole installed & power will be on the property this week, a shop kit ordered, front sliding gate ordered and a well drilled within a few weeks.
We have 2 appointments this week with GC's for consultations on a barndominium.
Things be happenin down here folks… :s0168::s0168::s0168:

Excellent news, please keep us posted. Wish you smooth steps over there brother!

We flew into Panama City Beach Thursday to hopefully procure a property near our lifelong friends hacienda near Chipley to spend the rest of our lives.
There are many people here tryin to make bank on their properties before the market rights itself, lotsa lipstick on a turd places out there that we backed out of the driveway without setting foot on the property. Also had a supposed good realtor set up with a list and all he did was jerk us around after showing us just one house. View attachment 2024204 View attachment 2024205 View attachment 2024206

Was shown a beautiful 10 acre property Tuesday and another one today that has both of us hopeful and with mucho prospects, wish us luck!

We made an offer just now on the second property we looked at. View attachment 2024207

My future county courthouse. It's kinda scary in a way, it's in Washington county, Florida.

80° in april is a deal breaker for me, I have a friend been trying to lure me to Texas for a couple years, aint gonna happen! I am glad for you and hope the transition goes smoothly.

Back home yesterday, wife is sick but I feel fine… Must be swamp fever… :D

We brought home a lot of information that we have to glean through and make decisions on. Math hard for Caveman…. :p
In the past I've heard an old saying "it only takes money". Thanks FJB!!!:mad::mad:
