I am so envious and proud for you.
I put it off too long and it'll likely never happen for me.
I've spent a lot of time in Florida over the past ten years, and I love it down there.

Now hiring for spring/summer help at the "Ponderosa "….
Don't be shy, I know that some of y'all strong young men desperately need a working vacay, bring a tent. ;)
Going to have a 30'x40' Steel shop drop shipped in March or April that needs assembly.
I promise that it WILL NOT SNOW during your stay… :s0140::s0140::s0140:
I'm too decrepit and disabled to do that, but maybe I could come out for a week and make stews and chili in the evenings. Honestly I'd love to just wake up in a tent and breathe some fresh air. I might not be fully recovered by then though.

OK BUT BUT BUT...

What to you reload for GATORS?? :)
Only legal dispatch for gator's there is a bang stick, bang and reload another 12 gauge shell, easy peasy.
Gators are best taken with a bang stick to that back
of the bean…. Make 'em stretch out and twitch all dying like…
Correct sir!

I hear ya brother, we met, got married there and I wanted to make more money so headed west.

I've been looking to get out for many years but the last 6 involved grandkids and was a very hard sale with the Mrs.
I explained that my health problems demand a warmer climate and I'm probably not gonna be able to do a cross country move in the near future, it's now or never. Thankfully I have help on both ends to do this move.
Good luck and don't give up finding an out.

Camp cook is a very honorable job but only if your good at it. Don't want a bunch of tired, cranky laborers yelling GET A ROPE… :s0140::s0140::s0140:

Don't shoot them, have Florida Style Rodeos during spring break for revenue.

On the redeye back to Potland from Raleigh.
I have to say that your decision to bail out of Washington state inspires me to redouble my efforts with Susie. I believe the key will be a visit to Lewiston and look at what is available/affordable house wise. The thought of moving is daunting after 41+ years here in Kennewick, but to live in a free state is so appealing. Sad to consider that after having been born here and living 68 of my almost 70 years here, that the cancer of Seattle progressives have led to this. :(

I understand the desire to "go home" and I applaud you for being able to do that. For me, Oregon is all I've know as home. We moved to Beaverton in 1964 from Hawthorn, CA. I was 8 years old. I'm 68 now. If we were to move I wouldn't even know were or what to look for. So I'll just stay and fight the good fight.

My SIL was born and raised in Grays Harbor county, gun guy like me, hates what's happened to HIS state but loves the big Puget Sound $$$$$. Do you think he and his pals would bother to vote????

I'm not from here so I don't consider it "running" from the problems the left has and continues to create, too bad the left can't see WTH is really going on.

Good luck brother, let's get back on Riffe lake this year before I fly the coupe.

I've said this many times that my #1 reason to leave is my health, cold n wet is bad for my arthritis. Remember last year when I posted that I was loading up all the components that I had in stock? That's due to my memory and hands aching so bad that I figured I'd better do it before I can't load anymore. I have enough ammo to shoot for the rest of my life.
The rest of the reasons are due to communism and people not willing to try and stop it, nuff said.

Reminds me of a story I heard...

Moose T*rd PIE

(you can stop here if you've heard it 🤣)

There was a logging camp where the rule was, that you didn't complain about the food, because if you did, you became the new Cook.

So, the existing Cook at the time, knew that he wouldn't have to do it any longer if he could just get one guy to complain about the food.

So,

He went out in the forest and collected some Moose T*rds.

And he baked the Moose T*rds into some Pies.

So,

Dinner time came, and the pie was distributed to all present.

All was quiet for a very long time.

And then finally one guy at the very back said "This Pie tastes like Moose T*rds!"

Everyone turned to look at him.

Then he said "Good Though!"

Well, it's been an ironic ending to our 2 week escape from winters cold n wet grip.
Recap: it snowed in Florida 2 1/2 days after we arrived.
2 1/2 days after we returned home, it snowed… Happenstance, I don't think so. ROFLMAO.gif

This is what Florida's weather is right now, I consider it "Heaven on earth".
The summer months of June through October, I will label "Hell on earth"… But we will survive with large straw hats and air conditioning in both caves. wink05.gif
