So, Tricare was recently sold by Triwest to United Healthcare.

I got a notice in the mail today that informs me that they are now reducing their Prime coverage area and it will no longer be available to me. Not to worry though, my premium wont go up, or down for that matter, I'll just have a bunch more out of pocket cost.

What a deal.

I'm almost wondering if that is not newsworthy.

You are incorrect. TriWest lost the contract to United Healthcare. And yes it does suck. It burns me everytime I have to make a co-pay. It reminds me of how the government failed to keep certain promises to me.

Actually the more I look into it, it seems that the switch to United was made as part of the Prime Service Area Reduction. So it was really planned out. It just stinks that to have prime, we have to live next to a base. Tough to do in Oregon.
