We, in the gun rights community have adopted far too much of the left/right meme (which is completely fabricated in most cases) and have abandoned the idea of educating our "enemies," to our own downfall.

However, I wouldn't waste a single breath trying to get Clinton to see our way of thinking. There are millions of people I'd rather be educating, and I've never been a fan of wasting my time

What is a leftist? How do you identify one?

I don't like to waste my time, but far too many people are being labeled babies and being thrown out with the bathwater.

That right there is empirical evidence - you tried, they wouldn't listen.

Where we as a group go wrong is when we begin stereotyping, and we are fantastic stereotypers (though we hate being stereotyped ourselves). The old 'you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover' isn't just some PC adage, those are words to live by. You really only keep the moral high ground when you have confirmation, not assumption, of their opinion. After you have that confirmation that a person can't be shown the light, then it's time to cut bait and move on to the next.

The Media's anti-gun and Anti-gun-owner meme is more than simply how the story is manipulated and distorted in the news programing. It is fostered by every facet of the entertainment, info-tainment, and edu-tainment where they control the message or even if it sees the light of day.
From the fairly benign but ubiquitous "warnings" on survival, man-against-nature programming depicting even the most minor hunting of animals for food as something to hide the kids from...all the way to the cartoon buffoon redneck "reality" programs that are apparently unable to find anyone "sane" living outside the limits of the various mega cities. It continues to "regular" series where the "crazy" side of the family owns guns, a citizen properly and legally defending himself/family/friends is never condoned by the "hero authorities". Unjust enforcement is never shown as ever happening, and any "patriot" is a right wing nut-job just waiting to go "postal".

If it wasn't for a few bonafide YouTube reviewers and bloggers there would be no gun oriented info other than magazines and forums....there are no pro-gun progams and virtually no gun competition on the airwaves...ever see actual full time converage of an NRA convention or multi-night coverage of ShotShow on a network? Heck, if it wasn't for the odd non-primetime hunting show you'd think nobody ever hunted and then its primarily for trophies.

Kinda hard to get a "message " through all that chaffe.

I feel lucky to be my age cause I will die with most of my rights even if I have to move to another state. Won't be many years until the socialist run everything in your life and all your rights are gone. You won't remember I said this when the realization is there that it's all gone but I sure feel better telling you so you can't blame us old guys for your loss. You have been warned by far better men than me.
