Watching the severely edited video that made general distribution on the networks (my first exposure to the incident), my very first impression was,

"Boy! that crowded street of peaceful protesters sure cleared out in a hurry."

Dang!

When I saw it on a boob tube SCREEN (Indoor antenna and OTA-free reception.) I thought the same thing.

It looks a LOT different on a tv screen compared to a small laptop computer for sure.

Are you one of my long lost cousins from Alaska that I never met in person?! LOL (I really do have them on my late Aunt Rose's side. They were born and raised in Alaska.)

Plus many versions of the videos from all over. Online and I saw some on the boob tube too. But you know how the boob tube cuts/edits/deletes all kinds of STUFF.

I did READ somewhere and I do not know if it has been posted HERE (Since I am still reading it all.) but apparently someone in WI gave KR the rifle in the state of WI. I went directly to several WI news websites. I do NOT know how honest or accurate they are but I wanted to mention this to the forum.

Somewhere on this forum, beats me now (!), I wrote some things more or less questions but I do not know if anyone answered me or not there. Plus I read some more. I had trouble following some videos too.

Then more links/posts/etc. came up. I am behind in all of this.

I do not think that he should have gone there. In my other posts/questions I asked a bunch of things.

Did he tell his parents where he was going and what he was going to do?

Did he sneak off and drive himself there or did someone take him there even if it was NOT that long of a drive even though it was in another state?

What actual group - the name of IT invited him to go there? HOW did he know these people? What did he know about them from the gitgo?

The very last thing that I finally read 'late' (NOT here.) and I am STILL reading THIS specific thread now as I type to you NOW on this very page... was that someone in WI gave him the rifle to use for protection in the STATE OF WI. I do not know how accurate the WI news was or is in that comment.

I do NOT know the name of the person who lent K that rifle or the AGE of that person.

As I said... I am still reading this thread.

I just do NOT think that he should have gone there in the middle of these rioting and arsonists type of people even if his INTENTIONS were good.

I asked if his family or a friend owned the property that he was protecting too. Was it a stranger and did the owner ASK him or did this 'group' that he may or may not have known well ask him to protect it?

It LOOKS like his other GROUP members LEFT him alone and fled or scattered the scene and they did not group together when the s hit the fan - before or after but I can't be sure there. So the ones who asked him to GO there left him high and dry. I still have to read another long link posted by another member here too.

I DO think that he acted in SELF DEFENSE from what I can tell with the BIT of information that I have read/seen ONLINE but not from other news sources.

Call me old fashioned but I was always told or TAUGHT to not to do STUPID THINGS with or AROUND stupid people (Meaning the rioters - criminals.) even if your INTENTIONS ARE OR WERE GOOD and YOU are the GOOD GUY.

Use your common sense and the brains that the good Lord gave you.

I do not think of this as a military type of situation. I mentioned that in the posts that I can't FIND now of mine. Yes, many YOUNG men and women join up - volunteer now as they did in the past even when there was a draft. My late husband was one of them when he was going to school and working at the same time in late 1965.

I do NOT think that he thought this out or that HE or his 'group' had any REAL, SECURE OR SAFE PLAN especially BEING AROUND those criminal thugs.

Plus there was a curfew but even if he was ASKED BY THE OWNER OF THE ONE PROPERTY TO GUARD IT... why were there not MORE PEOPLE there including the OWNER (Was he there or not?) to form a LINE OF DEFENSE like the Korean roof top Americans like they had in LA?

Yes, the POLICE DID KNOW that he and other people were THERE too. That was all over many videos that came out later on.

The POLICE knew that he and other people were there.

He did put out a fire.

I think that his intentions were good but NOT thought out well and the GROUP that invited him to go there did NOT have good planning with those criminal crazy rioters.

Plus whether he broke a curfew or not depending on his protection deal that the POLICE knew about - he had the right to defend himself.

Plus whether he was lent a gun (Or if that is not true according to the WI news?) or if he took a gun to WI from IL - he still had/has a right to self defense.

He may get into trouble with a lent gun or not or the owner of the gun may - I am NOT sure. IL and WI have different gun laws as we all know plus the 'hunting' or carrying a rifle which is legal in WI.

The state of IL is a female dog when it comes to their gun laws and FOID.

PS: More armed people will come to the rescue if you want to call it that since the POLITICIANS ARE IN DERELICTION OF DUTY in many states/cities/rural areas. They need to be thrown out. Not criticizing the unwise choice of the kid. He's a kid. But his parents are still responsible for him and should be horsewhipped.

We are on the same wavelength in so many ways.

What if he snuck out and his family did NOT know what he was doing or where he was and tons more? What if he lied to them?

What if he told his parents that he was staying at a friend's house like girls had PJ parties when we were kids in the 50's or 60's at each other's homes?

I asked those same questions so I do agree with you there.

I must be the odd one here because I DID have a curfew and I was brought up fairly strict, old fashioned, with common sense, brains, respect, PERSONAL RESPONSIBLILTY and so forth.

I did listen to and obeyed my parents because what they TOLD ME actually made sense. So did the teachings of my Aunt C., the family's lawyer - Mom's best friend, and my Church.

I wonder how shocked his family was if they had NO clue about this because I can't IMAGINE A PARENT letting their kid go there with the rioting mob and if they did... oh my!

Age has nothing to do with self defense.

I believe that a person has the God given right to self defense should they decide to do this.

Some people are total pacifists too. Their choice - not mine! They can decide their own destiny with their own choices.
