NBC reports that the car came from Canada-ruling out the DIY fuel shipping theory posed earlier.
Updated

The car, which officials have said was traveling at a high rate of speed, was on the U.S. side of the border when it crashed, caught fire and exploded, contrary to some early reports that it had come from Canada.

I see a fair number of Canadians filling up multiple 5 gallon gasoline cans at Fred Meyer on N Bakerview Rd in Bellingham quite often. Some of the people filling the gas cans were slopping gas on tne ground quite often and making a huge mess. We since have been filling the pickup at Costco instead since did not want to have a gas fire at Fred Meyer. They do not have the gas station attendant at Fred Meyer and the small building is closed if we fillup late at night. Other times we stop at the tribal gas station on Slader Road instead when are visiting Birch Bay.

Word is there is a Canadian ready to fix things up.

That sounded like something I would like to check, and as it turns out there really is no good source keeping score and it gets more muddled when you get into updates with corrected information (voluntary corrections) Vs forced corrections when they have to correct misinformation after everyone else has been reporting the corrected info for a while and EVEN more contentious when you get into topics like climate change and other things that are totally non-firearm related political topics
Look for the number of slander lawsuits they've lost. Or it may be another, similar legal term.
