Sunshades for LR rifle scopes?

For a given objective size - say 56mm - will a sunshade for that size fit most scopes with that objective size?

Is there a standard size and thread?

From my limited experience, you CAN get aftermarket sunshades as long as you know the thread pitch and obviously the diameter. I prefer to buy scopes that already come with them so I don't have to monkey around trying to find one that fits.

The sunshades I have won't fit other scopes.There is a company that made rubber slip on shades. I think Midway sold them. DR

Pretty much everybody in the Industry make things to Fit their own products so you have to buy from them or take your chances with something that is Aftermarket. Which may or may Not fit. It's just good business.
