Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I think its a fine choice. I personally prefer Colts but it is a personal choice based on looks and historical affiliation, not on quality or performance. My buddy has a Springfield Mil Spec and it shoots great.
I'll second the "hope you can find one" comment. Springfield 1911s are in short supply, and I've heard they are saying "months" to inquiries about when specific models may be available.
I've bought a number of SA 1911s since 1992. Never had a bad one.
The Black Stainless Loaded is the best-looking 1911 out there for the price point. Compares in looks to the Kimber Eclipse (except no frontstrap checkering), which'll run you a couple hundred more bucks.
