So..... I was up at pit 36 shooting my AR and had a jam forgot to lube er up pulled the mag out and seen this? What the heck could have caused this!??

Not a tight enough crimp. :eek:

Often caused by failing to trim cases to the proper length. Violent action of the bolt slamming home will
either force bullet into the case, or leave it stuck in the chamber when you eject the case. either way, one
of the most common cause of AR 15 failures. :(
 
Had same happen. Mine was not a bad crimp it was a warning.
Had a squib in barrel.
Take down pins are easier to operate without PINS IN YOUR HAND.
good catch , good habit is to toss through brass for any tells.
Every CRAPTASTIC CARTRIDGE I have encountered had a tell. Some you learn after " TWIN CITY "
