You're welcome to browse the interactive map of places to shoot on public lands, on the Trash No Land website. It's on the Home page. You might find something there. While you're there, check out the Shooting Regs page for forest target shooting rules where you plan to go.

While public land is free to shoot, it's not free to leave trash, shoot trees, blow up tannerite, shoot near trails or down/across a trail or road, or destroy our shooting places. We all need to work together to save our places to shoot. That means go prepared to bag up some trash, take legal targets, use a high earthen berm backstop and choose a safe shooting place.

Forest officials always hear negative feedback from the anti-gunners but rarely do they hear anything positive about us. So don't give them any fuel for the fire!

If you are willing to travel north a bit the whatcom county parks and recreation runs a range up by Bellingham. It's not free, but it's inexpensive and allows 300 yards. We've had to shut down the range to allow the deer to wander across it.

I'll second the Plantation Range in Bellingham. It's a bit odd in that they put up the rifle targets in the morning and you can't change your own. Indoor pistol is slow fire only and must be total metal jacket (enclosed base) projectiles. There's a clay range for shotgunning too. Check out the website for details.
