Very nice Chief's Special CS9 subcompact 3rd generation Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol. This is a TDA (DA/SA) pistol with ambidextrous slide mounted safety/decocker. It has an aluminum alloy frame and stainless steel slide.
This pistol has been upgraded with Meprolight night sights (freshly sighted in by a gunsmith), and grip tape below the trigger guard. The grips are Hogue grips; CS9s came that way from the factory with the S&W logo.
Included are three magazines (the original two 7 round mags plus an extra 8 round magazine from a 3913) and the original case (no manual or other paperwork).
This gun is very clean, with no wear except for a bit where the steel slide stop rubs against the frame. Purchased from an estate sale, the round count appears to be very low. Rifling in the barrel is excellent.
These are hard to find, and are among the most reliable, safe, and concealable 9mm pistols made. They were only produced for a few years during the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Size-wise, they're very similar to an M&P 9 Shield (Shield holsters fit very well), but are a little heavier (20 oz vs 18 oz). They are quite accurate for such a small gun, and with the Hogue grips they're extremely comfortable to hold and to shoot.
