A friend of mine had one of the above in 44 Russian. I is a top break, and a potentially valuable gun except many years ago someone cut the barrel to 2.5 inches. Attached are pictures of it and one of what it should look like. ut. Does anyone have ideas where the best places are to look for a replacement barrel. Or is he wasting his time as the value of the revolver has been destroyed.

The value of a antique/collectible gun is typically based on how much of the gun is original such as parts and finish. I would leave it as is it's been bubba'd up enough and will never be worth as much as an original/unmolested gun.
