slide drops when loaded mag inserted,on lots of pistols these days. normal ???

I have a pair of S&W M&Ps full size 9/40 and my slide drops 100% of the time. As long as the handgun is in my workspace and I insert the mag forcefully it will drop every time. I have grown to depend on it and I like it. It saves me time on my reloads because its 1 less step. But it drives my instructors crazy. I am experienced so I decide to not rack it. I don't recommend it for new shooters.

My uncles 9mm 1911 did it when I inserted the mag, I'm a tap and rack kind of guy so it kind of surprised me when I inserted the mag and the slide dropped. He said he paid $139 for it back in the day, so I didn't think much of it at the time.
