So I recently picked up a Beretta A400 Xtreme- It had not been loved before me- it was seriously dirty as hell. Despite that, my buddy and I decided to take it out to the trap range and it performed well. I got home and took it apart and gave it the full service. I noticed some light surface rust on the bolt, it came off no problem with hoppes gun medic and the shotgun is in great shape. However, I noticed 2 minor pits in the bore- I couldnt tell if that is how it supposed to look like, but I assume not. I tried to illustrate with markings what it looks like in the pictures- appears to be two 'slits' st the bottom of the bore. Can it be repaired or is this normal for a beretta?
Additionally- I was hoping someone would know how to touch up the finish? Could a cerakote specialist help with that? I do not want to touch it up with a rattle can.
Lastly, the butt pad is disentigrating- this appears to be a common issue on Beretta guns- it went through a few waterfowl hunts and the screws on the rear are totally rusted and stuck. Any advice on how to remove? Was considering sanding down the butt pad first- but any thoughts? I have a replacement and screws on the way. Everything else on the gun is all good!
Does anyone happen to have or know a good gunsmith near Lynnwood, WA?
Thanks!
