This is something I have seen play out more times than I can count. Someone is put in charge of the money and there is easy to see NO oversight. Normally starts small with the person thinking they will pay it back. After time they get bold and when finally caught? Too late by then. Must be great for people who were giving money to the place to find out where it was going while no one was watching.
I can't help but feel that quite a few politicians walk a very thin line with THEIR money coming from donations. The attitudes these mugs have after being in office for many years frequently seems to me that they have themselves convinced they can do no wrong. And that ANYTHING they do is for, "The good of the people". Potland is a MESS, and so called representative's are dolling out money by the truck load to "Who Knows?", so much so that they have this terrible shortage and must increase taxes/fees.

Damn right they do. We still see one now and then end up in prison. Every time it happens I always have been left wondering for every one of them that does get time how many others were just as guilty and just not hammered yet.

WHO? I didn't think any of them ended up in prison. Seems to me there is a protected class in this country. They don't go to prison. They pay someone off, and the media buries the story never to surface again.

You have not paid much attention to the news then. They just very recently sent that one from NJ up the river. A simple search will show you a good amount of both state and Fed law makers who have run afoul of the laws on "donations" to the point they actually got tossed in the can. For everyone they do this with I have LONG suspected there must be a bunch more who just have not been "caught" or they knew the "right" people to get it swept under the rug with maybe simply losing their job. Most often the ones who do end up in the can it got so blatant that it was almost shocking how comfortable they had gotten taking money in ways they knew full well was not above board shall we say. The state of IL seems to be famous for hiring Governors who end up in Fed Prison. Trump pardoned the one not long ago.

You got that right! The only "News" types I watch are a little FOX, Jesse Waters, maybe some Hannity afterwards. I listen to the morning guys on KXL, and some KPAM (Preferred to Lars Larson). And reading the smart folks here and what ever links you guys put up.
It's good to hear.

Markley, VanCamp and Robbin's in the morning. The Five, Watters and Gutfeld later in the day. That pretty much does it beside what I glean from NWFA…

Ol' Guttfeld is the absolute BEST, after seeing what the dims have been screwing up for the two hours before. But we are "Wheel Watcher's" so don't get to see Gutfeld enough.

DVR or if your a night owl, Gutfeld is on much later as well.
I have really found TV, even cable, doesn't have anything worth while to record any more. We used to record a few things. Always loved the Law & Order type stuff and still do. And as far as the political -news goes, I can get my fill of that with the show already mentioned.

Working nights I LOVE DVR. Before streaming I had toyed with getting one. Wife was always saying it was a waste so I held off. First time we bought an HD TV I found that to see the benefits we had to get a new box from the cable Co. That one came with a built in DVR. Wife VERY soon thought this was suddenly the best thing since sliced bread :s0140: Beat hell out of the old way of using a VCR.
When we went to steaming instead of cable the people offering it of course just use Cloud Storage which was even better as we could record as many channels as we wished at the same time. Gutfeld has to me been one of the best moves Fox ever made. I find myself missing the guy when he's on vacation. He is well worth what they pay him.

Assuming you have some kind of Broadband? If so you can just drop the cable and stream. A LOT of what's on you can see on demand and if you want no commercials just use one of the pay services that include Cloud service. The not having to watch the damn commercials VERY quickly spoiled me. :D

I couldn't even tell you what we have, other than a LOT of channels/movie channels. And an older "Smart" big screen. 55inch I believe. All the same channels on the bedroom tv and in the garage. My router may not be as good as it should be. There's some pretty annoying lag when waiting for some channels. And a LOT of those fancy movie channels have commercials. Some not so bad, others as bad as network TV.

If you get tired of the commercials I have used both Youtube TV and Hulu. Still with Hulu for now. By now there must be others who do the same. Its streaming service that also has storage. So DVR that allows you to record as many channels or shows at the same time. Then when watching you can skip the stuff you don't want to see. If your internet is not cable that may be the problem. DSL tends to really suck but the good news is there is finally some competition now. If cable is not available where you are you have other choices now that do work VERY well.

We have landline phone and cable TV with Comcast. I am under the impression that channels like TUBI, FreeVee, Fawsome and the likes use my router to the smart TV? Also have Peacock I believe. Oh, and Amazon Prime, as I pay them monthly for free shipping, IF I want to change the "Source" with the control to watch it.

Amazon Prime comes with a BUNCH of free streaming on its own. Most of that is commercial free. The others you mention are using your Broadband, whoever that is. If you have Cable TV with Concast then I would guess you also have internet Broadband with them too. With their Broadband you choose how much you want. If you look at your bill I would guess you could drop the TV and just bump up your speed and get FAR better service for the same price.

That's what i did a couple years ago. Kept only the cable internet and now just stream IPTV. I just wish I did that much earlier, with all the money I save and more channels now than before.
