I am not going to watch an hour long vid so you think you can prove your point. You can not do precision rifling by hand. You need machinery for that.

Its more of a statement that they cant legislate what people do in their garage unless the police are standing there. And that people made guns long before manufactures existed

(its actually an interesting video to watch. I saw that one a long time ago)

Can you make a barel with a hack saw and a file? Rifling? You must be really good with your hands.

Yes, you can actually. You can turn a chunk of steel into a rifling button using a hand file to shape it, then harden the steel. Instructions for hardening steel are not hard to find, and again, the components needed can be easily obtained from a hardware store or even gardening center. Then you use a steel rod and a hammer to pound the button through your steel pipe barrel. You can use your hand files to shape drill bits into chamber reamers. It may not be the same quality as a precision computer controlled machine - but it is far superior to no firearm. For that matter - you can make straight rifling - the primary use of home made weapons would be close range combat - not 300 yard shots. Use your home brewed gun to get a factory part off of a government storm ninja if you have to.

Or build a shotgun - no rifling required. Straight chamber.

Building a gun would be far less difficult than building the ammunition for it - if you want magazine fed center fire rifles and pistols.

Controlling access to the chemicals necessary to make gun powder would be easier, as would making primers. Primers are the weak link in the whole chain if you're planning on rolling your own ammo.

But if it came down to the point of having to make your own ammo vs obtaining factory made stuff - things have completely gone to hell and the government has been far too effective at disarming us. Considering that the Soviets couldn't keep guns out of commoners hands, the Mexicans cannot keep guns out of the commoners hands, the French cannot keep guns out of the commoners hands - I'm not worried that the United States government can keep guns and ammo out of the commoners hands. If they somehow cut off your ability to obtain weapons and ammo - then it would be time to resort to other tactics. Unless they destroy the economy too - you're going to have access to gasoline, glass jars, and fabric.

Clubs, knives, bee and wasp killer, bleach, liquid plumber, a 1975 Ford pickup - whatever - lots of things can be used as weapons IF they could somehow disarm us, and prevent anyone from accessing knowledge on building firearms, prevent access to the machinery and hand tools needed to build firearms, and access to the raw materials to build firearms.

They cannot even stop sailors from taking pictures of control panels, or rogue government agents from setting up private email servers to circumvent national security protocols, or keep track of all the nuclear weapons in inventory. If they can't do those things - they surely cannot stop someone from getting hand tools and raw building materials.

Too many machinists, engineers, architects, tinkerers and inventors out there to kill the knowledge of how to build a gun.

Actually, Black Powder and Lead are super easy to find, especially here in the PNW, just have to know where to look and what to look for! GO out and get a new or gently used Muzzle loader NOW, and practice with it! If you keep it clean, it will last as long as any modern firearm, and you can feed it totally off grid! If things were going that far sideways, NFA won't matter any more, so a home made suppressor would be pretty slick, though it will not hide the smoke, but it might buy you time to escape and evade, or to load another shot!:D

I already have a modern muzzle loader. .50cal
And now your ahead of the game! That Ol'Smoke Pole might just be the hot ticket once the gun grabbers have mandated every thing with a serial number get turned in ( though I bet we see less then 10% compliance) so for now, practice and enjoy, and stock pile it wide and deep!

Now you have me thinking about a cap and ball revolver.

And as for the how easy is it to DIY crowd I'll just leave this here:

Oh and so much more... One only has to look to Brazil and Argentina recently to see criminals being found with full auto m2 machine guns while the civilian populace can hardly get an air gun without jumping through hoops.

In fact there was a lovely article on tfb about Russia and how strict gun control didn't stop a recent mass shooting there that of course our press was silent about... And of course the solution to a solution that doesn't work instituted by the government is more government...

So of course more gun control is proposed, even though that particular solution fails repeatedly.

It is sad to say that we have, as gun owners, lost this country to the left. They just will not stop for anything. A new nation wide ban proposal is coming after the 80% market. HR-7115. I personally am so effin tired of the left try to control me and the way I live in America. We have lost all the old values in life like respecting your elders and your neighbors. We live in a "what can you do for me" society and everybody wants a hand out and tell you what you can own or not own as far as firearms. Not sure what to say. All I can do is shake my head in disbelief.

Remember the Republicans will continue to hold the Senate and White House...

Just a matter of time before the socialists are recalled...

Some of the Repubs have turncoated us here in our own state.

You can still buy NFA items/kits etc online and in gun shows. I could easily make a suppresor, or full auto, or buy one if I wanted .

The difference is those things are obvious. No point taking them to the range. However their are millions of 80% lowers, probably in CA alone. So whose to say the one I just made, I didn't have already?

If they make everything Illegal.once a person makes the decision
To break the law why would they obide by any of them .

Goodbye AR Builds, Hello H.R. 7115: Nationwide Proposed Ban in the Works - The Truth About Guns

I have met a few younger people that seem to have their heads s screwed on straight. But very few.

I thought manufacturing a gun for personal use was specified as legal. Outlawing the tools to manufacture would be in direct violation and go to SCotUS, right?

Basically this seems like it'll be killed or be ruled illegal if it does pass.

steel pipe + hydraulic cylinder + welder + oxygen/acetylene torch + beer + unlimited rocks + eventual empty beer cans to use as shells...

definitely not hard to make home made weapons.

libtards would pee themselves if they saw how devastating a little back woods engineering could be.

Nobody can predict the future. Logical, partial conclusions can be reached based on experience and history. But when nut comes to crunch you just can not be certain of anything until it actually happens. You can however, prepare. Whittling guns out of beer cans or copper wire is not going to cut it. Making one home made weapon one at a time is not an answer. And when they control primers, what then? Yes you can make propellants at home out of common chemicals but will that be an effective answer to real weapons in the hands of whomever is trying to enforce laws? For myself, I am prepared to break future laws should they occur. I'll stock up on what I can afford now while it's there to be had. Its an individual decision, how far do you want to go to maintain your beliefs? How far can you extend your sphere of influence? I'm working on those very close to me now, with ideas and helping when I can afford it. If nothing comes to pass then I'll have a collection of security around me. If the worst happens then I guess I'll go at it and take my lumps if caught. At least in my own mind I'll know I tried to preserve what I belief in.

It is not just the 80% receiver. Parts kits, tooling, plans, blueprints. Anything to do with 80%ers. They are trying to stop you from building period. .
I just watched a guy make a barrel out of a grade 8 bolt, then button rifled it with six groves, using pretty much a drill press, a Dremel too,l and a home made press. Maybe it won't win any target awards, but just try stop ingenuity and creativity. If nothing else, it will frustrate and irritate the crap out of them.
They may want to control my life some day, but they will never control my mind!!
