S&W First Gen Slide/Barrel Swap

Hey fellas. I like older guns - have a S&W model 59. I'm considering picking up a second slide (and barrel) so I can have it setup for a suppressor.

According to dudes on the S&W forum, slides and barrels from first and second generation guns will swap. Only issue being I might have to remove the firing pin safety if it's a second gen donor.

My question - if I pickup a matching barrel and frame for this purpose, should I expect any headspace issues if I install it on my frame? My thoughts are if it's a matched set it should be a non-issue. Share your wisdom…

If you have a matching barrel and slide, why would your frame cause a headspace issue? It's either in full battery and in spec or it isn't. The frame isn't going to affect that ...
