I recently completed this conversion and I am very happy with the results.
I documented the process in a flickr album.

I am not that interested in doing this for $. I have a full time job, but any gunsmith or machinist could perform this conversion. I can answer any questions about the process.
I have since added the Williams fiber-optic Firesights.

very interesting.
what did the extension ad re; weight.

Looks like it greatly improved accuracy.
How does it compare to the walther in accuracy?

The barrel extension adds 0.5 oz, but the solid stainless steel compensator weighs 9.5 oz.

I can't make an accuracy claim on the Walther P22, but length of barrel alone would make me think a 6" barrel is more accurate than a 5" barrel.
