If you can talk the talk, you better walk the walk (out). ;)

Folks, be sure to reach out to Senator Baertschiger and thank him for taking a stance to protect our rights....

Dear Senator Baertschiger,

Thank you for your support of our Oregon Constitution and for our Civil Rights, I know this isn't an easy decision to walk out, but is a drastic measure that needs to be taken to halt the runaway train that the democrats in the legislature have set in motion. They have trampled on our rights, disregarded what the people want and are drafting and attempting to pass legislation that is purely and simply against what the majority of Oregonians want.

Unfortunately, far too few Oregonians are involved with or keep a finger on the pulse of the legislative goings on. However, SB978 has brought a focused attention that has shown a vast majority of Oregonians to be against it. How Sen. Prozanski could pass this bill out of the Judicial Committee is beyond me, just a wanton disregard for the legislative process and the voice of the people.

Thank you for taking a stand, for protecting our rights against this onslaught. May I ask what recommendations for next steps you would have for those of us rank and file citizens? There are many of us trying to be more involved and having guidance on best next steps from inside would be most helpful.

Again, thank you for standing up for us, thank you for taking a stand and thank you for being unwavering in your commitment to the people of Oregon.

God Bless.

Respectfully,

Nammac

The Oregonian is reporting the walk out has to do with a business tax bill.
True, here's the link. The end of the article does however state:

With less than two months remaining in the session, any slowdown now could impact other Democratic priorities, including cap-and-trade legislation and an omnibus gun bill. Both have drawn heated opposition from Republicans.

Also, OFF did say SB978 was a key reason, not the key reason.

By hook or by crook, if SB 978 can be stopped, it works for me.

Yeah gun stuff is important, but so is mismanagement of funds. If we all got a receipt with a breakdown on our taxes, I bet there would be more outrage that so much is spent on such a horribly managed public education system.

Not to mention the Medicare screw ups, why don't they come up with a list of failures for the next election? Maybe then some accountability will be established.

Unfortunately the news doesn't do investigative journalism that often anymore and seem to just be a propoganda machine.

Anybody know if everytown or Bloomberg pay TV stations to promote stories about gun violence? I heard they do for movies.

What about school shootings. Another shooting today. There will quickly be a point in which firearm violence becomes too much of a public health crisis. Many more lawful gun owners, but the small percentage of unlawful acts perpetrated by illegal guns is a significant risk to gun ownership for all.

Arming teachers is not a solution. Teachers want to teach children.

Find a solution to reduce gun violence and gin suicides, if you want to preserve the right to bear arms.

Well, these were most likely middle schoolers, as that's the segment of the school where the shooting occurred, thus making them minors. How about the parents be charged for their child's behavior? Then perhaps parents will be motivated to parent for a change...

What's an illegal gun and how is it to blame?

Amazing that you can speak for all teachers. I'm pretty sure that if you simply eliminate stupid GFZs, there would be plenty of teachers interested in their own defense and possibly the defense of their kids.

The antis always make it seem like people want to force the 70yo librarian to pack a gun.
