Wow. I thought reddit would be a hold out for gun subs. I used to hit there when I was looking for specific reviews on something that was not so common and couldn't usually find something there. Bummer.

After looking into it, it looks like they have just dropped anything that has to do with sales of anything gun relevant. The discussion forums are there, just not sales of anything. Still $hitty.

The only subs I frequent are /r/firearms, /r/ccw, /r/protectandserve (also /r/leo), and /r/securityguards.

If they dump all firearms related subs, I'll probably just call it quits all together. Access to /r/leo is nice because I can bubblegum about my agency to other law enforcement people. The security sub is cool too because I did that as work for years and its nice to stay up to date with the industry.

reddit is mostly garbage now. One day I went to all and every time I saw a post that was clear political manipulation I blocked the section from displaying any posts on r/all. I think I got up to about 350 subreddits that were hidden and the only things left were stuff like bread stapled to trees.

The whole site is a mix of political operatives from the left and Russia.

Remember to delete all your individual posts before leaving. Leave the site full of holes one the way out.

Also, always us something like ublock origin to block ads if you go to manipulative sites. Use something like Ghostery so that they also dont track you from site to site.

I've seen Privacy Badger suggested as well. I don't have much experience with it seeing as I've only recently installed it, but I figure more options are always better.

Beer and tobacco sales and a couple others have been banned as well. JMHO, but I don't think this has anything to do with so called moral high ground.
FOSTA Would Be a Disaster for Online Communities

A new law aimed at targeting sex trafficking and child porn has a couple (probably intentionally) vague parts that could be used to shut down and jail web service providers for content users post. So if someone posts a video on Youtube showing how to make a flashlight suppressor, or exactly how to shorten the firing pin on an AR to make it full PewPew, Youtube (or Reddit)could get shut down and some low level staff flunky that can't afford a good lawyer *might* do jail time.

There is an effort to rebuild the community on Voat, a platform the supports free speech. The overall community can be abrasive, but it seems like most of us gun folks only browsed a few subs anyways.

Deals are starting to trickle back in. Hopefully more will come over and we can make our wallets weep in terror again.
