*BTW, in HI we had access to a Mental Health professional. And, taking into custody: a person vs. property situations and methods varied. That being said, the "oral ex-parte" was one of the tools used as a usual method for taking a person into custody in an emergency. And a written order (signed by a Judge) was another method when taking one or both under control. Yup......HI's gun registration records were used to some good effect. Or bad, depending on which side you were on.

Mind you that...... IMHO, even the idea of a Judge signing off wasn't without its flaws and an ability to be abused.

Guy is filing a law suit against medical provider, "both sides agreed that it doesn't appear any threat was made. "

But, the lawyers for the medical professional filed a "Red Flag" law, the cops seized all his weapons.
