Recommendations for 5.56 Ruger Mini-14 Optics: Red Dot or Scope

I'm thinking of this as a practical or target play gun but occasional camping/coyote gun. Likely to shoot .223 and not 5.56. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks TKDGUY

If red dot I would go with a sparc 2 great red dot and not too expensive.

But if hunting too, I might go with a low power scope. Like a 1-4 power.

I have a strike fire, but it's a little big. The sparc 2 is an awesome sight I really like it. I also thought about a smaller red dot like a razer, c-more, or deltapoint, but for a rifle it's a little small.
