Question about cerakote

I bought an aero precision receiver set in anodized OD green awhile back. Decided to start a build and looking to get a handguard cerakoted to match it. I know anodizing and cerokate is two totally different processes and getting an exact match would be impossible… but is there a cerokate color that would come close? I was thinking H-189 Noveske bazooka green. Any suggestions?

Why not just cerakote the whole rifle if you're having it done?

I had this mag extension Cerakote Mil Spec OG Green H-240 as the closest match to the OD green on the gun. It doesn't look like the picture in the internet but matched the sample swatch well. Be sure to check it in the sun and not artificial home lighting.

IMO green anodizing looks more like Green Mamba and even Zombie Green.

I think your biggest issue is going to be matching the sheen of the anodizing. A good cerakoter should be able to mix a very close approximation of the color.

While you're researching, maybe consider the possibility of complimentary contrasting color of cerakote. The human eye differentiates shades of green more critically than any other color. Matching perfectly seems unlikely

Reach out to aero and see if they made any of their rails with that anodizing.

Reach out to Dana, he's in Tacoma and very well may have a sample. He was at one point on these forums, not sure if he still is. He did my Mossberg 500, and has done some pmags for me.
