Reminds me of my Uncle Leonard's farm. He had a big poultry operation. Probably a couple thousand chickens. He said the difference between a layer and a fryer was two days. If a layer didn't lay an egg for two days, it was a fryer.

Awe! I had a border collie/springer spaniel that looked just like that.. Such great dogs!!

This is Marvin, a pissed-off red little ball of fury. He is my 3rd generation breeding rooster for a particular strain of chicken that I am trying to develop, one with all the Silkie traits (including black skin) yet smooth feathers and in that particular set of colors.
