My friend is concerned that I might run into a LEO at the firing range and be in trouble because my chassis has a brace. I didn't think that this would be a problem because BiMart is gonna sell me an AR pistol that has a brace. Is this clearly legal or murky? I figured that I had better ask as he's a lot smarter than me me in all things, except maybe performing tracheotomies lol.

At his club, there was some concern that these might be considered SBR's. There is an option to SB% my chassis if I want to put a proper stock on it, which is something I might do after January, once the NFS tax fee is gone. Here's what it looks like with the brace.

It's legally a "pistol" but I assume you've heard the term, "you may beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride"?

In any event enjoy your kit as designed and don't be blatantly obnoxious while using it and bring unwanted attention to yourself.

I guess with Trump's DOJ settled for a circuit judges decision based on overreach rather than on constitutional grounds means they are legal for now, but once Trump is out, the next administration could have them banned again or require them to be registered as SBR's.

If I put an actual stock on it, I will be good to go if I register it, but I won't be able to take it out of the state. But that's ok in the case of this thing. It will get sighted in and used at the range and other than that, it will stay at home.

It sits with an empty chamber. I will never trust that thing to carry it on my body, in public. Saves me from having to buy a decent holster for it.

Totally legal. Clubs have rules, ninnies or not.

Our clubs do not allow full auto. Although machine guns are legal to own (yes, with hoops).

Our clubs do not allow simulated full auto-binary, bump, or forced reset. Although those are legal without hoops.

So if we wish to shoot at our clubs, we need to follow club rules.

As towards being asked to show "papers", NFA owners are required to be able to present stamps if requested. Normally by ATF agents, or any LEO if investigating a crime.

I would imagine that the manufacturer of the chassis in question likely has information or an actual ATF approval letter. Such might be handy to have available if one has concerns about being asked to show " papers "...

I've seen a really nice paddle holster that holds the gun about an inch or more away from the body. So if it went off, it wouldn't hit me. But the forward cant , while it might not shoot me in the side of my arse ( I carry at 4 O'Clock), might hit someone behind me in line waiting for a Happy Meal.

My club doesn't seem to care about braces. But no full auto fire is allowed. They don't seem to mind a fast double tap from a binary either. But, if you hit that thing as fast as you can, they'd probably ask you to leave. I guess just don't act like a fool.

If you feel the need for that on you as a CC I'd recommend finding somewhere else to be if possible
Yeah, I definitely wouldn't carry it in town. Might be good if I'm attacked by a bunch of Zombies though. I might need more that the two mags on the gun.

Could Washington keep me out? Is it legal to bring a higher cap than ten mag into the state as long as I return to oregon with the same mags I brought in?
I think that would be considered importing if you got caught, but I am not a lawyer and have no idea what these crazy bubblegum rules

When I go to WA, I just carry somthing with 10rd or less.

When I did a road trip, I bypassed what would have been a 70 miles stretch of Colorado as they ban anything with greater than 15rds capacity and one pistol I brought has a standard capacity of 30rds...

The advise I got was from the more legal team of USCCA, even though I was just passing though, it was not advised to cross state lines with a banned magazine.
