Could be wrong, but pretty sure I can't SBR my evil "assault weapons" here in WA even though they're grandfathered in. Otherwise I absolutely would.
Yeah you can. Prior sbr law is still in effect. If you gots the parts, and we can still get shorter barrels here, it can be done. I am considering a 12.5" SBR. I got everything but the barrel, unless I decide to cut one down.

The whole brace vs illegal sbr topic confuses me so much. The ATF should get their S**t together... Really though, who cares? Just let us have SBRs!
It's confusing imo cuz it's based on a 1934 law which itself is pretty damned arbitrary. 15.5" is a scary gun that needs to be registered vs 16.5" is a.o.k. The pigeon holes they created at that time for types of guns makes no sense today (it didn't at the time either, they were trying to ban all concealable guns, including handguns, but the handgun prohibition got axed near the end).

I bought my AR pistol already braced. I don't like the brace I have, but yours looks like a brace I could use. That is the kind that spreads over your arm from the top, down both sides, right? ….

Yes, the brace in my post can be positioned over the arm or wrist and secured with the Velcro strap. There's a video in the link below that demonstrates two different methods of use. I don't use either of the methods shown in the video.

If you could shoulder your firearm by purchasing a stock and you don't have an SBR already, it sounds like a $0 Tax Stamp might be a good option for you.

A little creative inter-webs searching for adaptive shooting methods will probably get you on the right path. I don't want to share my personal adaptive firearm manipulation techniques or adaptive firearm modifications in the open Forum. But if you are sincerely interested, shoot me a PM.

There are drawbacks to adapting a firearm to one's abilities, but the adaptations can extend a person's safe enjoyment of firearms.
…And that beats giving up on all the firearm firing fun.

My cousin is a canard, his parents had him continuously wear a bicycle helmet through his childhood.
My 35 year old niece has to wear a helmet now. She was in an accident and was ejected from a car and had part of her skull removed. Don't get into a car with people you know are drunk. That's the lesson here. Especially when the driver is drunk. And buckle up.
