Hardly gouging. Their prices during this and almost every panic have always been fair. An entire rifle kit at $600 is still an amazing price.

We were only completely spoiled when the same kit was $300.

ok customer service from cheaper than dirt

not true though, they just got greedy and it shows

IMHO......based on the kits that I have purchased. Probably about 10 over the years. They were good enough (aka: GTG).

Aloha, Mark

PS.....back in the Clinton era AW Ban.....I built using kits from Model 1.

I'd rate the PSA kits to be "Better".

I have a handful of PSA lowers and every part I have installed from multiple parts kits have fit with no issues. After many years of selling kits at reasonable prices I don't have an issue of them selling at current market prices. I think they may have gone off the rails with their AR9 kit prices but I won't buy one at this time.

Who else competes with PSA on price and quality that consistently beats them? Anderson? Bear Creek Arsenal? Delta Team Tactical? Bravo Company? I have some parts from these other companies except BCM. If all these companies mentioned had a similar item at the same price I would go with PSA.

PS: I understand most would put BCM at a higher tier.

Adding to the comment on ammo and right now Federal/CCI are running their ammo plants at 24-7

"During a media presentation at Virtual SHOT Show 2021, Winchester said that if they stopped taking orders for .22 LR right now, it would take 2 years to fill all the back-orders. In December, the Vista family of companies, which comprises Federal, CCI, Speer, and Remington, announced they had a $1 billion backlog in orders. In the first 3 months of the COVID-19 lockdown, Winchester experienced a 17-percent surge in orders, which hasn't tapered off."

I'm at 3 stripped uppers from PSA , one with BCG and charge H. 20" Crome L standard hand guard a2, 18" wylde SS mlok, 14.5 crome L mlok. All no issues and straight shots, match up nicely to Anderson, Spikes lowers (have shims never use). Aero , PSA, BCGs, miscellaneous parts (strike industry, PSA, Anderson, aero, Double star, PRO 2A, even novelty dust covers from China........) hybrid bastards they are. Surplus ammo has ever been issues (failure to fire,.... dead loads). Get some while you can.

My only PSA lower. The difference between it and my much more expensive FN and Colt lowers? Squat. The roll mark. Had a little extra engraving done at my local laser shop. She does good work...

This thread, and Joe Beijing recent comments, has me thinking of pulling the trigger on that Magpul MOE kit at $529 shipped.

Their chf barrels and uppers used to be sleeper deals until everybody realized the were FN origin. I have never bought a complete kit from them but all the parts and pieces have been serviceable to outstanding.

I've built a half-dozen PSA pistol kits in both 9mm and 5.56, and haven't had a single issue with any of them. The 9mm kits are really reliable if you're using both PSA upper and lower - can't speak for how it works if you mix and match upper and lower brands, though.

The 5.56 kits I've been getting are the 10.5" A2 type. Once I get them, I upgrade the gas block to a railed receiver-height model, the handguard to a Magpul MOE SL, and the brace to a Tailhook Mod2 - I have 2 built out that way, and love it. They function flawlessly, look great, and even with the mods don't cost an arm and a leg.

yeah, also the front sight is already pinned in the assembled upper, which is nice compared to drilling your own holes for set screws...

I would rate most of Palmetto's products above S&W.

Spikes has been the source for mist of all their PSA branded lowers.

The information they provide with their listings will allow ascertaining of the quality.

Their current pricing is a reflection of current demand. Product demand is unprecedented. Just look at the number of firearms sales in Jan 2021 and demand is increasing.

This is how many guns were sold in each state in January:

Huge numbers of kits sold to Illinois residents. Over a million for January 2021. :)
Illinoisans represent!

Looks good! That engraving looks awesome too! The engraving lady in my area told me my krink was ugly when I asked her to engrave it for my F1.
