Or, we could just make it HARDER to get them on the ballot in the first place.

The Founding Fathers designed our federal system to protect the minority from the whims of the majority. We should have the same protections at the state level. Direct democracy sucks. Just ask Socrates.
This:

"Or, we could just make it HARDER to get them on the ballot in the first place."

The number of signatures required to get an IP on the ballot should be raised significantly. I would vote for a Measure that does that.

Ballot measures cannot be rescinded by the legislature, it take a ballot measure to remove a ballot measure. That's why the sanctuary state and legalization of small amounts of drugs laws can't be undone without another ballot measure to remove them.

Might make more sense to campaign for a ballot measure to change the Oregon constitution to require a supermajority to change the constitution.

That's another thing in the constitution: Article IV, Section 1

(b) An initiative law may be proposed
only by a petition signed by a number of
qualified voters equal to six percent of the
total number of votes cast for all candidates
for Governor at the election at which a
Governor was elected for a term of four
years next preceding the filing of the petition.

(c) An initiative amendment to the Constitution
may be proposed only by a petition
signed by a number of qualified voters equal
to eight percent of the total number of votes
cast for all candidates for Governor at the
election at which a Governor was elected for
a term of four years next preceding the filing
of the petition.
Something Must Be Done.

Seems to me some breadth of area of the state must co-operate to get a measure on the ballot or vote for it. If less than half of the state area (counties, so far in this thread) signs to get the thing on the ballot or votes for it once it is there, I suggest the proponents have identified a local problem, which they should address locally.

And then, of course, we need to get rid of
ORS 254.470 Procedures for conducting election by mail

Is there an anticipated date when 114 will go into effect? Thirty days after certified? Which means what? thx.

There's much confusion on that. Some say 30 days per the Oregon Constitution, others January 15th. There's even some speculation that it fully won't even come online until the permitting system is figured out by Oregon State Police. Which is what they've said.

Until they finalize any memo on it. Its all up in the air.

Not a single one of those MFers lifted a finger or gave a penny to help us out before this was passed. Why do you trust them now?
Second Amendment Foundation's (SAF) specialty is fighting the legal battles in the courts to get bad law overturned, not election campaign efforts.

And I further anticipate a clean-up bill that would fund the OSP permit infrastructure (to whatever extent) and provide some clearer dates - that ought hit Tina-the-K's desk around July 2023.

Here you go folks who keep asking and those that are worried or curious.
The measure takes effect on Dec. 8th 2022(if passed) and the bans and permit requirements take affect 30 days from Dec. 8th 2022, so on Jan. 8th 2023 the ban and permit BS become law.
You have until January 7th 2023 11:59pm to get everything you want to get that they are trying to stop us from having.
Info for dates is listed on the SoS web page.
Please quit asking for links to it, at this point we should all have the links to the SoS web pages.

FPC has stated several times that they're simply a team of lawyers who can only attack once the law has been passed. There isn't much that they can do until that happens...fortunately, they're quite good at what they do from there on. In other words, there are lots of holes in this legislation and they will be exposing every bit of it. Our biggest problem is the possibility of getting anti-gun liberal judges to preside over any cases brought to the court.

OFF (Kevin) had ads on radio, signs and was involved in debates. They are the only one that fought before the vote as far as I know.

OFF and FPC are now going to attack in court as soon as it is certified and victims are identified.

All you need is a bunch of people with time to burn and they can put ANYTHING on the ballot

They are exhibiting the same behavior as the Stores who are going to "prioritize" shipping of mags to us. Where were these stores before Measure 114 passed? Now these guys want the donation machine to go brrrr.
