is optics planet the place to find the cheapest quality scopes, if not whats your go-to place to find reasonably priced optics?

I have another question as well, im looking for a scope to put on my AR 15 224 Valkyrie, thinking about the Leupold mark AR MOD 1 3-9x40 mm P5 dial. Wanting a quality scope out to about 750 yds. What are your guys' thoughts? Thank in advance folks!

Normally they are right in there as far as price. In some cases, with some manufacturers, you'll find that the price is the same across several online sellers.

I've not had any wait for a shipment from Optics Planet. They do tell you whether or not an item is in stock right there on their website. If you don't want to wait, and are willing to spend a little bit more, then you can order it elsewhere.

Lastly, every once in a while they run unadvertised specials that can save you a bit more on a lot of different products.

I have not used the specific scope you referenced. I have a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x50 on my AR15 and a Nikon M308 on my AR10. I have other Vortex optics on other firearms and I've found they are a great value with good glass at a very good price.

Good luck with your decision.

If you want to wait a month or two... by all means order from optics planet.

Support your local dealer instead!;)

Now you tell me!!! I just ordered a spotting scope. It wasn't until AFTER I paid that it said "Will ship in 26-37 days" . Turns out it only took 6 days to ship.

Oh its that bad huh? Well im too impatient to wait months

What I would do if/when I do this again? I would do the research, and then go Amazon. Make sure the item you want is here in the states. Another thing, Optics Planet BOMBS you with emails daily.

I've ordered a few things from Optics Planet. Despite skepticism & a few warnings to the contrary, my own dealings have been very timely, most often the best price I could find, and total of ZERO complaints.

While not expecting to make an order anywhere soon, with compare shopping they would remain one of the suppliers on my list of potential sources in any such purchase.

I appreciate their easy-to-use comparison product feature.

now that I looked at the thread i started about a spotting scope. I looked at my link. Now they dropped the price of the scope I've got coming $18.00!

Optics Planet does have decent prices and good products but in my experience they DO NOT always tell you something is out of stock while it's in your basket. They are notoriously slow shippers, even when the products are in stock. I've spent a fair share of money with them but I avoid them unless there is a really good deal on something nowadays. They are just too slow.

Primary Arms is a good place to shop optics when they're on sale and they ship lightning quick. There are alot of good deals to be had a PA and you won't be disappointed by slow shipping or surprise back orders. Their site is 10x easier to navigate than Optics Planet too.

I've had always positive dealings with Optics Planet. Seldom does a local store or shop ever have what I'm looking for, so I have no choice but to buy online. Optics Planet has a great inventory, competitive pricing, and maybe I've been lucky, but their shipments have always been very timely.

I have ordered "in stock" items four different times from optics planet. I have only received one of those items. The most frustrating part, they don't notify you if an item is out of stock. I had to find out by calling a week or two later after not receiving a shipping confirmation. They are however good at cancelling and refunding in a timely manner. I have since found better company's to buy from.

I ordered a couple of pluckable Plano Cases from Optics Planet and the shipping time was inordinately long (2-3 weeks I think) but their price beat Cabela's by a long shot.

Called Optics Planet as I debated the $$$ crossbow w/built in hand crank or the $$ one without. Nice lady and I had a good conversation convinced me to get the one with the built in hand crank then kindly discounted it to the cost of the one without!

Everyone's mileage may vary, but that convinced me their customer service was exemplary and their customer service agents were empowered to assure their customers walked away satisfied!

Do not know turnaround but upon arrival I discovered there was no way I had the physical strength to pull the string up without the use of the crank.

I am on the last straw with Optics planet.

First order took 3 weeks to arrive...
Second time it was about 3 and a half weeks...
Right now I am waiting on a SB Tactical brace that I ordered on March 7th that they said was in stock... Not a word from them other than the incessant e-mail spamming.

Maybe I am the unlucky one, but I feel I have given them plenty of opportunity to redeem themselves. They will never see another cent from me.
