I recently picked up a Taurus TX22 TORO and have been looking at red-dots for it. Neither the manual nor the Taurus website seems to be specific about the stock optics footprint, and it doesn't come with any optics plates like the Competition model does. The internet seems to think it's an RMSc footprint, anyone know if this is correct?

Straight from the Taurus TX22 web page;
"Additionally, the new TX22 T.O.R.O. uses the popular Shield RMSC optics footprint, so it will accept many different optics."

Welcome to the site! Correct it is RMSc footprint- which has sort of become the industry standard now for the compact optic mounting system. Lots of good options for red dots that fit that profile- i highly recommend the Holosun 507K- fits on both my TX22s slides very well, and is light and no issues with function. I do run all my TX22s suppressed, which the extra back pressure does typically help with 22 reliability. The Taurus TX22 is by far the most shot gun in my collection- they are just too fun!

Doesn't answer your question but fyi I just went with the Calloway? Caldwell? chasis and mounted red dot to that. For $89 it's a steal imo. Non moving red dot, shoulder stabilized, very light and very sturdy (no flex), forward mag grip holder that's says "not a grip" on it.
