November 19th is National Buy Ammo Day

I have spent close to $4000 on ammo in just the last month, Unless the 19th has some smoking deals on .50 BMG I am afraid I have already blown my wad.

I remember when you posted this and bought ammo on that day but since then I've started rolling my own and I'm very satisfied with the results.
I will send this to my son-in-law as he has not been bitten by the reloading bug yet, that will change probably next year.

Buying .50 ammo is not for the meek, That is only about 2000 rounds

(And it seems silly to have a Barrett semi auto .50 and not have at least a couple thousand rounds to feed it)

I'd suggest a plain old 230 grain FMJ round around 850 FPS or so.... Since that was the round the pistol was designed for.
Many companies still make a version of this load.

5.5 grns of Win231 or 5 grns of Bullseye will get it really close to the older loads.Mild on both the weapon and the shooter.

You really should look at getting set up to reload for your Barrett. I did years back when I first bought mine and glad I did. I cheated and built/machined my own press. From what I've read of your work I'd bet you could do the same.

I could goto the big box store, but if you are going to get just 100 rds, please use an LGS.

It was started years ago, why they picked 11/19 I don't know. We have only a few holidays for gun nuts and I figured I might as well help promote it.
The idea is to get as much ammo into the hands of private citizens as possible, it also helps support the industry and the economy in general. Buying the ammo a day early is not a problem....this year we have a WAC show in Puyallup on the 19th so there is that.....
