That's a good point.
They are like some of the Euros, relying on our protection.
Must be nice to have a Big Brother taking care of defense.

I just looked, the South is in pretty good shape.
Outnumbered in some areas but better quality equipment.

That's the big threat if "we" do a preemptive strike on the nuke facilities. That the NK army would cross the border into SK. Make it so they can't.

I don't know if they could do that, but they could immediately trash Seoul with their many artillery pieces on the border.

While the SK army is not as large as NK it is far better equipped and also has the benefit of superior air and sea strength. The problem is that the capitol is 35 miles from the border. Even if you moved the government, the city would still be there.

I wonder why they didn't make the decision to permanently move the capitol to the South in the 1950-53 timeframe ?
It's a sitting duck for long range artillery.
