I took a picture of one of the hills on the way home from getting supplies. There is snow higher up, but not much down here.

Hey @Caveman Jim they cancelled the concert.
My sister just got a notification that it is canceled

Yeah we were on the road and finally got into the motel and then 15 minutes later the notification popped up.
Seeing that there wasn't nothing going on in Tacoma nightlife wise we decided to hit the road and we just got back home before the Black Hills turned to black ice.

While it is a bummer to not be able to see him on his last tour we just figure it was not meant to be.:oops::oops:

At least you're home safe.

We're leaving soon headed for Tacoma (from Oly area) to see Bob Seger.
last year he canceled due to health reasons (had to have neck surgery), rescheduled & here we are....
The Michelle Obama :s0170:speaking engagement at the Tacoma Dome last night was canceled so we're wondering if they will do the same for tonight.
We will not be happy if they cancel but understand if they do.
I'd pay to see mizz obama struttin to Seger

Lol want to know why they cancelled it.
The mayor of Tacoma did it last minute.
WHY because gay Insleee declared a emergency .
Would not look right .
The Gov of the state declared a emergency.
But yet a rock concert was able to go on.
Lol .
Got to get that emergency money.

How are you guys doing on the snow? I think we got at least 12 inches today, where I live, and it's still snowing. Roads are slick as hell too. I haven't seen it this bad in a while..

Having bounced back and forth between West Virgina and Virginia most of my life, with about 2 years in Chicago thrown in there (and one forgettable year in Pittsburgh), I can verify that "snow" here isn't snow, "cold" isn't cold, "hot" isn't hot and humid (thank everything remotely holy), and "traffic" isn't traffic. And there's no denying that I've probably seen more wrecks in my two years here than I've seen in most of the rest of my driving life combined. But other than the wrecks part, it makes me feel spoiled! Everybody stay safe!

And "here" means the Willamette Valley, not the mountains, of course.

Here on the peninsula, its more about losing power and freezing to death than worry about driving or food for me. I have supplies and water. I even have a large supply of unseasoned wood availible in a pinch, but hunkering down alone in my cabin for a week without power or internet isn't how i wanted to spend the week. I'll survive, but I'm not going to be happy about it.
