My dad has a bolt action 22 he is wanting to sell. Neither of his gun value books from the late 90's has this particular model in them and I have not been able to dig up much info online about it.

Barrel reads. Springfield, Savage Mod.246 .22 s.l.lr

The bluing is in great shape. Although whoever took off the open sights messed up the lip of the channel that holds em on. Also the plain jane stock has some wear marks. Rifling looks very good also, doubt there was ever very many rounds fired through it. Been sitting in his safe for probably 15-20 years without being shot until last weekend where we put 2 boxes through it.

If anyone has any info like date of manufacture or history on the model as well as est. value it would be greatly appreciated.
