It hasn't been relevant when they stopped basing the actual cars and chassis onto production models not that they ever did...

On the other hand, CART/Indy/Formula race series also are losing viewers and supporters... World Rally Championship, Baja/Trophy Truck series, SCCA and LeMans series seems to be the only ones staying relatively relevant in terms of technology, skills, and speeds.

You know... Rock Bouncing/Hill Climbs are getting bigger and bigger in the South and the East? Basically 4x4 Rock buggies with enormous off road tires trying to climb up steep rocky hills as fast as possible.

F1 is proof of that. It is extremely demanding. In the end though, professional Motocross is the most demanding, especially in light of the competitive nature of the teams, riders and trainers.
