Looks like it is similar to an Sig or many bufferless uppers out there now. I'm curious why they still bolted on a regular buffer tube thing to work with regular stocks when they likely could have went folding stock.

Ditto this - having been around the Italian Military at one time....

Just think of the great deals in the future…. surplus Italian Army rifles, never been fired and only dropped once! Also, surplus Italian Navy ships, must bring own salvage crane and recovery divers!
