My M&P SHIELD XS has arrived!

I do have to say that I was surprised by the recoil, or should I say the lack there of. I was expecting some snap in such a small and thin package. To be honest, I perceive more felt recoil from a Glock 23 than I do from the M&P Shield. It just wasn't snappy.

That was my experience exactly. I shot the 9 and the .40 side by side and couldn't distinguish a difference. Needless to say that made me want to get the .40. But have to wait until funds are available and also one of the pistols is available.

Does anyone have a scale that could weigh the shield40 fully loaded using the flush magazine? I want to compare against the XDS fully loaded which is 26 oz.

Shield in 9mm is 24oz loaded with the flush 7 round mag.

Ok thanks stmcelroy, so then the 40 would be just a hair heavier. Probably right in line with the xds at 26oz.
