There has been a massive explosion of mushrooms the past week or two. Thinking about having stir fry with these beauties.

That is mens size 15 shoe.

Been several blooms recently in my area of Eugene lately. But I don't know what's edible, and so I just leave them the F alone.

I stick to chantrells, hedgehogs and cauliflower for fall mushrooms. I dont care for lobster or chicken of the woods. Matzies are good too if you can find a patch. I made alot of money digging truffles but they taste terrible to me

Stir fry the Amanita and the shoe size will be the last thing you think about.
Not necessarily....

The Amanita's can hybridize with other strains of Amanita.. At one time, years ago, I contemplated giving them a try. The deep red caps where I found them at Barview Jetty Camp Ground would tell me that they where a pure muscaria. I never did though. Better safe than sorry.

The wife has a friend that grows edible "Wine Cap" mushrooms.
They are beautiful mushrooms.

I don't think I've ever seen any of those in the wilds.

Many years ago when Dad and I were riding our Honda's up in the mountains in Utah dad found a huge "Puffball" in the middle of a dirt road. He took it home and ID'd the thing. And ate it all up. After that he was hooked on mushrooming. He became a "Mycophile". Not a whole lot of opportunity in Utah. But there were abundant "Pleurotus" in the valley that grew on laid down/dead cottonwood trees that we did have. He preserved and ate them on a regular basis..

I think you'd have better odds downing some drain-cleaner and seeing what happens....
