How long has Bullseye had a classroom, and where in the building was it? It's been 10+ years since I stepped foot in that place, so things have probably changed (and my memory is out of warranty by a number of years). Bought a few guns and etc. from them. Sorry to hear about this happening.
It's also been a few years since I was there but if I remember correctly, it was on the second floor, down the hall to the right of the shooting bays. Ne section of the building.

A couple of local station news articles stated that the explosion area has been narrowed down to a classroom / storage area. Not the firing line area, it would seem. For a fatality to have occurred, that person was likely to be in the more immediate proximity to the explosion. That is, the classroom / storage area. I'm guessing that the cause of the explosion was related to what individual(s) were doing in the classroom area, not the firing line. If initial fire authority impressions are borne out.
Damn, I know where that is then. Its just outside of the lanes off the lobby where they allow people to get their stuff set up before going through the double doors into the shooting lanes of one side of the place. That room shares a wall with the part of the place where the ammo for sale is which makes sense the fire started to make it pop. I do feel bad for someone being killed. Will now be wondering if it was one of the workers I knew :(

Here is a followup from the owners:
Hello Everyone, your thoughts and prayers have been very heartwarming these past 12 hours.
Last night at about 6:15pm we experienced a 2 alarm fire that engulfed the second story of the building. All customers were evacuated safely by range staff as well as customers who themselves took charge in ensuring everyone on range made it out safely.
Bull's Eye is currently not in a state to operate safely, but we plan to rebuild and reopen. All customer firearms are accounted for and safe, some may have sustained some light damage by smoke, but should be repairable with some cleaning.
Being that we are unable to operate, we are unable to accommodate the transfer of any firearms currently pending background check, we understand that this may be frustrating but please extend us some courtesy in these hard times.
When we are operational again, anyone who is unable to pick up their firearm due to an expired background check will have their new background check fees taken care of, on us.
We do not currently have an estimated time of reopening but will keep you all posted.
For anyone on range at the time of the fire your ID's are safe and you may come claim them during our normal business hours, as staff will be on site 24/7 during the repairs.
For anyone who has questions about their business with Bull's Eye, past or future, this account will be monitored going forward.

I recently purchased a Savage 99 from a forum member and we did a transfer at the Bull's Eye Gun Range/Store. In addition to the Savage 99 transfer, I also purchased a new Springfield XD 9mm pistol. I was supposed to pick up these firearms this weekend, but yesterday I heard from someone that the store burned in a fire and a person died in that fire. I tried to get in touch with the store, but their store phone is not working. I also have a cellphone number from one of the store managers, but this phone is also not working. What should I do now? Both of these guns belong to me now (I fully paid for the savage and paid $100 deposit on the Springfield), and both serial numbers of these firearms are now linked to me now since I passed a standard WA background check. Is there anyone here who knows what happened?

There's a current thread on it, second page has a response from the people there and it seems you should be OK, gotta wait until they reopen or something? Not sure what's going on

Thanks. I will check the tread you mentioned.

I have 2 guns that I was supposed to pick up on February 25, so I am trying to arrange a pick up with the Bull's Eye. I tried to get in touch with them through phone and FB, but no luck so far. I guess they must be devastated by what happened. If any of you work or is co-owner of the Bull's Eye, please send me a personal message, so I can arrange the firearm pickup. I do not want to disclose my personal info in a public forum. I wish you all the best and fast recovery.

Did you read what he said, he already tried through phone and Facebook (FB), and have not gotten word back from them.

I went past their shop this afternoon and happened to speak with them. They are working on getting ATF approval to work out of shop and get guns to those who have had background checks done.
They are also working on a phone redirection set up that will divert to a different phone so ring and check in the coming days.

Later this afternoon the Bull's Eye contacted me through FaceBook and told me that someone will call me this week to arrange for pick up. I fully understand their situation and got to be patient.

I was in touch with the Bull's Eye through their FaceBook page, so I we arranged for me to pick up the firearms. So far, I am impressed by their effort to help their customers.

Does anyone know who was the unfortunate individual who died in this fire? I am not asking for any personal information, but would like to know if the person was a customer or store employee? I am sending my condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.
