Don't know enough about mushrooms, so when they appear I pick and toss them in the trailer with all the other yard debris. The ones at the top of your post look exactly like ones that have been popping up in my flowerbeds this year. Never seen them before.The "Destroying Angel" is also a member of the amanita family.

Yes, for Amanita dehydration is the way to go. The ibotenic acid converts to muscimol and you're golden.

The Amanita's can hybridize with other strains of Amanita.. At one time, years ago, I contemplated giving them a try. The deep red caps where I found them at Barview Jetty Camp Ground would tell me that they where a pure muscaria. I never did though. Better safe than sorry.
