These efforts to serialize ammo are going to grow, as are restrictions on ghost guns, 80% guns, etc. It's not just about making product harder and more expensive to aquire but it's also about making product easier to trace back to manufactures, dealers, etc. This will allow victims to sue these companies out of existence. What's that you say, they have protections from lawsuits granted by congress. Maybe for now, but once there is an anti-gun majority in DC again, they will fix that. There are already calls to do away with those protections. It's a long game they're playing, they probably learned it from China.
Maybe the Supreme Court will step in, maybe they won't.

I get these are annoyance ploys to keep the indifferent away from guns. Ironically, these are the people who aren't aware what the new laws are, so on that frame point alone these laws are ineffective.

Also, not one proposed bill does anything for deterrence. Ok, the determined killer does everything legally (rollie eyes) to obtain a gun. Well, now he has a gun. Instead of Monday he gets it on Friday. Instead of one 30 round magazine he has three 10 round magazines. Or he can do what every other criminal / terrorist does and ignore the gun laws.

Someone I know in LA just posted on FB reminding people to keep their dogs indoors, with a pic of a sad dog in the snow. These are the same sad people searching for a cause to champion. Serializing a bullet when there are billions of unserialized bullets is not even a funny joke.

I was just going to post similar, this is the goal. Anyone remember the Gas Shortage days, if it was that easy to regulate a liquid, it will be very easy to regulate ammo right at the source. It could become like firearms that those whom do not have serial numbers became rare and now are hard to find unless a musket. We lost rights over decades, by the time kids grow up to adulthood that are born today.
Things could be this way.

Glad I have the means to cast my own...

And I'm learning that reloading should occur in a surgical type environment to eliminate as many traces of DNA as possible...

It'll take work to beat them at their own game, but it's certainly possible with enough effort.
