Modifying a 1927 Thompson buttplate

So i got sick of looking for a proper plate to fit an original Thompson stock. Original stocks have swelled, and I swear the plates have shrank by .125 all the way around.

So I though hey I have a tig welder and a bunch of rod, a belt sander, and a hard 8" scotch brite wheel, and then sand blasted. Just needs a little parkerizing now.
