I just remember one year camping and rafting in Maupin and the mosquitos were so biblically aweful I didn't want to leave the tent. There were swarms of them.
You walk out in the morning and any piece of skin was instantly covered.

Taking a leak was aweful.

That was the most miserable time in the outdoors I've ever had.
 
I used to work down in Klameth Falls a few weeks a year. They have trucks that drive around spraying for them.

The hipsters on the west side would just sh*t if they saw that.

I have a bubbler on the deck and noticed some larva in there today. Got three feeder fish at the pet store and dumped them in there. They went right to work on them.
 
It's tempting to say that they've never bothered me much, but then I think about those days back in the 1960s in the high sierra meadows trout fishing when you'd step out of the truck and immediately turn black with mosquitos.
