He's trying to keep his position as Representative of Polk and parts of Marion Counties.
Yup. Screen shots from his newsletter. Please note his language. Hm where have we heard that before....

Easiest way to shut down "reasonable, rational gun control measures".

"Are criminals not part of "The People"?".

"convicts are by legal practice, not required to pass BG checks, not legally required to register their unlawfully gained firearms, nor legally required to obey laws" (and there are plenty of State to Federal Court cases relating to criminal convicts and firearms)

@Joe Link

I do not understand why this thread is marked as "Thread Closure Imminent" when it is clearly the most viewed thread (and most recently active thread) in the entire category of Firearm Legislation & Activism.

There are very many of us who rely on this thread for important recent information, witness the recent post 5,983 above which is important to so many of us.

I urge you to reconsider the status of this thread.

It's had that banner for weeks. If everyone's excellent to each other then it won't get locked.

Act accordingly.

That's the mixed blessing of threads being cleaned up of offending posts, on one hand it's the right thing to do, on the other hand if someone missed them when they were posted or jumped in after they were gone it's easy to be confused on what the hubbub is because nothing they have read in the tread appears problematic.

I remember some of those post and frankly I'm surprised the thread didn't get locked ages ago

Well, let's hope we can give this one a breather soon.

I've got everything I need to defend the ole homestead. I'm tempted to get off the forum for a few days and come back and see what's happening then.

While I think these new laws stink, I will adapt. They want politically correct, non dangerous guns? Alright. I'll carry a 1911 or my Python. I may only have to fire once with those.

Body armor on an assailant isn't a concern with the right ammo, or if you hit 'em in an area where they aren't kitted. When in doubt, shoot em in the dork. If your dead on, you hit their pubic symphisis. Meaning their pelvis is now in halves and they won't stay standing. And if you're a little left or right, you hit their femoral artery.

How likely will 114 be implemented after this 35 day pause? As i understand it will almost certainly be appealed and therefore the pause will continue?

It already has been appealed as of yesterday. Not sure that anyone has a timeline for what happens next.

Agree. Cuz we don't know if OR supremes will take the case or not. That alone will make a huge difference in timeline. Also the new m114 bill timing. Also will the new m114 law make the first m114 case moot?

It COULD could make it moot, but they would have to raise the claim to that, and a court would have to agree. Tony Aiello spoke to that in a video recently.
HB 3075 will not automatically moot the lawsuits.
