I suspect we will hear very little about people being charged with possessing "high capacity" magazines. I can't recall ever seeing anything about someone being charged with selling a firearm in violation of SB941 and that passed years ago. The number of people who are prosecuted for lying or falsifying information on a Form 4473 is really small - Hunter Biden comes to mind. They just like to pile on the laws to keep the law-abiding folks in line and show us who's the boss.

excluding individual power tripping cops, It all depends on what they make a priority as an organization imo. Fe we used to have a normal, common sense head of the state patrol. But he left because Portland wanted their help but refused to prosecute anyone. So of course the D brown appointed a woman who will do her bidding. If a D gov says, "OSP make this a priority", then they will. Same with local cops. Again though, there are some like "the hatchet" OSP officer in eastern OR who WILL prosecute you for anything they possibly can, it's in his DNA. Fortunately they are pretty rare though from what I have seen.

Enforcement has very little to do with arrest or prosecution of end users. The main method is through selling parties. Most won't risk their means of supporting their families by selling standard capacity magazines or selling guns to those without permits.

Greater effect by controlling the supply vs controlling the end user. It's the same with just about anything, including fentanyl and meth.

I can update when my BGC clears, just relaying what I was told by my FFL yesterday. I thought they had been moving much quicker too.

If they are doing less than 600 a day which they claimed was the minimum they did during Covid and also being short on manpower than they have no excuse now as to why they are doing less than that now. Only reason that it would be less is an intentional slowed because they were told to.

There have been stretches over the past couple of years where they were doing around 300/day, and sometimes even a little less.

It's so refreshing to see all of the (presumed to be) law-abiding citizens in this thread (begrudgingly) preparing to comply with this blatantly unconstitutional law.

I was at Cabela's the other day and sure saw a lot of 10+1 full size guns in the case. Has that "law" already gone into effect?

Look at CO. They passed mag ban law some years ago. Now they are saying peopel can buy mags out of state therefore they have to ban all guns that use the mags.

The way I see it, if they can't handle prosecuting the actual criminals that are actually committing crimes then there's no realistic way they can prosecute all the newly-criminalized, previously law-abiding gun owners that outnumber the criminals at least 100 to 1. These laws are intended to make certain people "feel" good and safe, nothing more. They're so overly concentrated on what they consider right-wing threats coming from the rural parts, when usually those people just want to be left alone....hence why they live away from the urban centers.

I'm changing precisely zero... Fortunately mags are something I have hundreds of, and with the fact that a magazine violation is a misdemeanor I'll happily take that hit if I'm forced to defend myself with my CCW (The bad guys aren't only going to have 10 rounds). This won't stand when it hits SCOTUS considering that the CA mag ban and Illinois FOID cards have been ruled unConstitutional, but that will take time I'm sure. Until then the POS liberals in charge of Oregon will try to ream our cornholes as much as possible...

I noticed that at Cabela's in Springfield last December, and I was going to ask, but they also had handguns with larger magazines, so didn't bother. Counter droid probably has little insight into corporate thinking.

Having a misdemeanor conviction within the last four years, is one of the disqualification for a CHL…..

Yeah I just got my recent one today to pickup, turn around time was about 18 hours for only having about 350 in line at the time. Still a long time for only 350 people, they were doing about 200 an hour before. A lower I picked up few weeks ago only took about 30min with 250 in line.
