A suicide prevention walk in San Diego Saturday will feature pamphlets with gun safety tips co-created by a gun lobbying group, but gun-control advocates will not be allowed to distribute materials.

"Their organization's legislative stance related to guns is inconsistent with our efforts," said Jessica van der Stad, regional director of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. "As a suicide prevention organization, we are not in the business of saying who can and cannot own firearms. We are in the business of saving lives."

Van der Stad was referring to the local Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America group, which sought a booth at this weekend's "Out of the Darkness" community walk. Another local gun control group was also told not to promote their cause if they attend, emails shared with Voice of San Diego show.
Gun Control Advocates Not Welcome at Suicide Prevention Walk

At least one organization is starting to see that these groups don't really care about reducing suicides. Good job National Sports Shooting Foundation.

I attend such walks......and WOULD Welcome any such deuchbag " pro-con" to bring up firearms.....to FREE DENTAL EXTRACTION.
NOT TIME NOR PLACE...
THAT SAID I WOULD SHINE THE SHOES OF A GUN SAFETY BOOTH OPERATOR AT SUCH EVENT.

This is great! I wish more of these groups would openly do this.
I have been inculcated since early childhood to the feeling most groups like this have a hidden agenda.
I.e. helping innner city youth or saving the planet really means confiscating others wealth and/or consolidating government control.
Or any other of the multitude of groups that at the very least have been hijacked by leftist causes if not blatant obfuscation from their very founding.
It has resulted in me, more often than not, just ignoring the cause.
If groups like this would be more open during instances such as this one. I for one, would start paying attention and probably lend real support.
