Martini-Henry firing pin protrusion

Hi everybody, I recently acquired an original Mark II Martini-Henry made by BSA in 1876, and I've taken it apart as much as I can and cleaned it pretty good, but when I disassembled the breech block, I noticed something about the firing pin. It looks a bit deformed which is not uncommon in guns this old but when you insert the pin into the breech block (with the long slot facing down the way it's meant to) the end sticks out a *lot*, way more than I would think it's supposed to, but I'm no expert. Sadly I can't find much information online about what proper MH firing pin protrusion looks like and a replacement firing pin isn't easy to find either. Is this something that can be remedied either by myself or a gunsmith or do I just gotta sit around and wait until another firing pin pops up for sale online?
