Lock vice question

I need to do some work on an old lock so I was wondering if there is a vice for both the main and frizzen springs. Do I need a vice for both? I want to make sure all the rust has been removed and work on the full cocked position. It drops back to half cock sometimes.

What you are wanting is a Main Spring Vice....it will work for both the Main and Frizzen Springs.

All carry them...and they ain't too expensive.

I have plenty of Vice's I don't need if you want to take some off my hands! Now specialty Vise's for front stuffer work, I do not possess and I would defer to Andy!

Thanks everyone!

This rifle was given to a family member and then returned back after about 18 months. To say the least it was kind of neglected. So its back for some TLC, the bore was dirty but the breach area not good! Black and brown patches. I can see a light when looking through the touch hole while a bore light is in it so there's hope for it.

For cleaning a neglected bore....
KROIL with a bronze brush....works well.

This is of course not how you do regular cleaning.
( warm soapy water for this chore )
