Washington and Oregon is full too, just of different stuff. - Snowflakes
Wish I could move to a RED state
Yes because what woman needs the right to decide what she does with her body, and since Christianity is the only religion the policies should all revolve around that religion. The new governor here is a rich east coaster yet because of the R after his name, people don't care that he's selling off the land the we own and privatizing it for his personal gain.

Don't quote me again unless it is to apologize for insulting my state. Note, I did not say apologize to me. You owe me none.

But this is a great state made up of great people. Even IF you encountered the people you describe, for YOU to ascribe that perception against the entire state is slanderous and the type of broad brush proclamation that frankly, has gone on far too long.

A great many of the members on this site are Oregonians.

Portland's ruination came from Cali beginning about 1994 [?], and then, lots of people from New York, and the New England and Mid Atlantic states followed in the 2000's. Quite a few from Long Island, New York or the Bronx or Brooklyn came, with their personal and political narcissism. The state's leaders are a value and moral reflection of the voters. Right now there was very recent complaints for the protests in the Pearl District but it was those people that voted in mass for the current Pdx city management. Talk about knowingly shooting one's self in the foot multiple times and not learning about safe voting.

Back in the 70s, we were allowed to discriminate against Californians. Does anyone remember Blitz weinard's Oregon Border Patrol?

welcome.

I was born in Portland and grew up there during the Golden years of the 80's and 90's, when it had the small town feel but was still the largest city in the state. I grew up in "good" neighborhoods of Alameda, Beaumont, and Grant, going to the corresponding schools for those neighborhoods. Back when the homeless were "moved along", and before the troubles of North Portland's Columbia Villa were smeared across the city by its demolishing and rebuilding.
During the good old days of the Hollywood Neighborhood's Fred Meyers building, Pagoda Chinese restaurant, Poor Richards, Roses Ice Cream Parlor. When Lloyd Center's claim to fame was the Biggest Mall in Oregon!
Sadly, Portland has changed so much I moved away and now enjoy hearing the horror stories of Out-of-towners moving to Portland and discovering its a literal sh!tshow. I live closer to the Coast then to the Big City and stay away at all costs.

For me, the telling point was when they closed Quality Pie on NW 23rd. It was a 24 hour restaurant across the street from Good Samaritan. It closed because the riff-raft drove the paying customers out.

And the riff-raff still does the same thing to business after business. PLUS elect the majority of our so-called representatives.

I'm playing the long game. Hopefully enough psycho Californians depart from California for refuge in Oregon and drive up prices. I recently purchase ten acres out in wine country and I'm hoping they'll drive prices up enough that I can sell and retire to Montana or Wyoming in 10 years.

I was shocked to read about all the easterners moving to the valley/Potland. I can tell you for a fact that easterners and Calis don't get along. Either Calis will flee again, or drive the easterners out.

welcome.

I've got news for you pal, those were NOT the golden years. Portland was a lost cause by then. It is just that you did not know what you wee missing as a little kid in your "golden years".

I lived there when Portland was conservative along with the entire state of Oregon. It was in the years before the flood of liberal socialists fleeing from Kalifornia in the '60s

It sounds like you might be jealous of how much fun they had
